There’s something quietly powerful about a library.
It’s where tiny hands learn to turn pages, where teenagers discover stories that feel like mirrors, and where adults rediscover curiosity they thought they’d outgrown. It’s one of the few spaces left that asks nothing of you except to show up and learn.
That’s exactly why the upcoming Fundraising Gala at the Lee-Whedon Memorial Library is so important—and why this event is about much more than a night out.
Why Supporting Your Local Library Matters
Libraries are community anchors. They provide:
- Early literacy programs that set children up for lifelong success
- Safe, welcoming spaces for teens and families
- Access to books, technology, and educational resources for all ages
- Lifelong learning opportunities for adults, seniors, and everyone in between
When you support your local library, you’re investing in education, equity, and community connection—not just today, but for generations.
And let’s be honest: reading doesn’t stop being important when we grow up. In fact, it becomes essential. Reading sharpens critical thinking, reduces stress, sparks creativity, and keeps our minds engaged at every stage of life.
An Evening That Supports a Legacy
On February 6, 2026, the Lee-Whedon Memorial Library invites the community to come together for an evening in support of this vital institution.
